No city garbage collection Monday
KINGMAN - Presidents' Day will impact garbage collection service for city of Kingman customers only.
City Monday and Tuesday customers should put their containers out one day late. Bulldog Disposal, Waste Management and Westside Disposal customers will have their garbage collected on normally scheduled days.
Pancake Supper Tuesday
KINGMAN - Trinity Episcopal Church's annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Admission is free; donations are welcome. The church is at 425 Spring St. in downtown Kingman.
Home-buying class Thursday
KINGMAN - A free, one-hour Homebuyer Education class starts at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Realtor Building, 1923 Kino Ave.

Wheeler piano concert slated
KINGMAN - Pianist-composer Romayne Wheeler and protégé Romeyno Gutierrez Luna will perform a piano concert at 3 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3180 White Cliffs Road.
Donations collected at the concert will assist the famine-devastated Tarahumara Indians of Mexico.
The public is invited.
Ferret spotlighting next month
KINGMAN - Arizona Game and Fish will be conducting its annual spring spotlighting effort for endangered black-footed ferrets March 8-12, and needs volunteers to help document ferret numbers throughout the Aubrey Valley, just west of Seligman.
Those wishing to volunteer, or needing more information, should email email@example.com by Feb. 27 with "March Spotlighting" in the subject line. Individuals should indicate which night(s) they are available to help; include a first and last name, a contact number, and if anyone else will be attending with them.
Additional information will be sent following contact, including meeting location and times.
Franks in BHC Feb. 26
BULLHEAD CITY - One of Congressman Trent Franks' final meetings with Mohave County citizens as their representative starts at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in the Sun Mission Resort Clubhouse, 3340 Sierra Santiago. The public is invited.
Due to redistricting, Franks will be seeking re-election in a district that no longer includes Mohave County.

Pancakes for a Miracle on Feb. 28
KINGMAN - IHOP restaurants nationwide will offer each guest a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes on National Pancake Day to raise awareness and funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The event is from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 28.
Donations made at IHOPs in the Kingman area will benefit the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' program at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
