Firefighter treated after battling blaze
Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire Chief Pat Moore said one firefighter was treated for heat-related illness while battling the Tuesday afternoon fire that destroyed a single-wide mobile home in the 4700 block of Tracy Lane.
Moore said the homeowners were able to safely evacuate but an unknown number of cats died in the fire, which broke out shortly after 1 p.m.
Firefighters battled flames as tall as 30 feet while the home burned and threatened neighboring residences. Firefighters were able to spare damage to all but one neighboring home that was damaged by direct flame and heat contact.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
