Obituary: Gina Gail Hanks
Gina Gail Hanks, a longtime Golden Valley resident, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 16, 2012.
Born in California, Sept. 9, 1955, Gina married Cletus Ray Hanks, the love of her life in 1975. Together, they moved to Golden Valley, Ariz., in 1978. Gina and Cletus raised two beautiful daughters, Melissa Jean Hanks and Kasey Lee Hanks.
Gina dedicated her time to her family, community, and profession. She served as an accountant for Mid Fifty F-100 Parts during the last six years, after 22 years as bank manager for Stockman's Bank in Golden Valley. Gina was a loving wife and devoted mother, and a generous, kind woman to her co-workers, customers and all who had the privilege to know her. She led Girl Scouts, gave countless hours to 4-H, and worked tirelessly for community members in financial need. She was a founding fundraiser for the Library and a Member of the Chamber of Commerce, a pillar to our community and an inspiration to us all.
Gina loved her family, daughters, friends, and community. She enjoyed camping, was fearless riding her quad throughout the surrounding desert and mountains, and made sure everyone was welcome and fed while spending time with family and friends at the lake.
Gina is survived by her husband of 37 years, Cletus Ray Hanks; daughters, Melissa Jean Hanks and Kasey Lee Hanks; loving in-laws Rolland and Sharon Hanks; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for those who loved Gina and grieve for her loss. She was truly loved by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be announced later this spring. In lieu of flowers, the Hanks family suggests donating to another family in need and continuing the principle of Gina's generosity: service to others, undying generosity, and love for community.
