Obituary: Laurie Ellsworth
Laurie Ellsworth passed away at her home Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the age of 67. Laurie was born Feb. 23, 1945, in Waukesha, Wis., to Clarence and Dorothy Brock.
Laurie and her husband, Bob, moved to Kingman 12 years ago. Her greatest pride and joy was her family and friends. She involved herself with many activities, snowmobiling, water sports, traveling, and especially her grandchildren. She was a funny lady and loved by all. Laurie also loved to entertain and take care of others.
Laurie was one of the most courageous human beings. She had been battling cancer for many years and throughout a long series of ordeals - anyone which may have discouraged the average person - Laurie endured, prevailed, and never once lost her sense of humor; she was always the compassionate voice no matter who or what created the situation. She was pragmatic, selfless, and intuitive. She always knew what to say and you could believe that her comments were founded in core beliefs.
Laurie is survived by her loving husband, Bob Ellsworth of Kingman; sons, Jeff Hegberg of South Korea and Philip Hegberg of Elkhorn, Wis.; stepsons, Robert and Brad Ellsworth; and two wonderful grandchildren, Jacob and Heather Ellsworth.
Laurie was a woman of dedication. She dedicated her life to serving others. Twenty-two years of working for county social services in Wisconsin, and three wonderful years at the Kingman Head Start program, where she changed the lives of those around her, especially her close knit friends who were there at the end, Joby, Judy, Sue, Rhonda and Cathe.
A special thanks to New Hope Hospice, especially Debby, Gina, Sara and Sharon. You truly are blessings and your love, compassion and dedication was much appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the New Hope Hospice Foundation, 3550 Northlane, Suite 102, Bullhead City, AZ 86442.
