Peach Springs siblings facing 20 years for assaulting officer
A 25-year-old Peach Springs man faces up to 20 years in federal prison for injuring a police officer who was trying to arrest the man's sister.
Jordan Reed Sumatzkuku pleaded guilty last week in federal court to felony charges of assault on a federal officer.
Authorities said Sumatzkuku grabbed a Hualapai Nation Police Officer arresting his sister and wrestled him to the ground. The officer broke his left foot during the struggle.
Sumatzkuku's sister, Raema Sumatzkuku, pleaded guilty to the same charge as her brother earlier this year.
Both face a maximum of 20 years in federal prison when sentenced in the next two months.
