Kingman Letter: Thanks for the participation in the 9th Annual Mohave County Veterans Parade
Thanks to Kingman, Golden Valley, Chloride, Dolan Springs and Meadview for all your support and participation in the 9th Annual Mohave County Veterans Parade held on Nov. 3. Thanks to all entries; you made the parade enjoyable. We hope to see you next year.
Special thanks to Martin Swanty Chrysler for giving our parade marshals wonderful wheels to ride in and to Mohave County Public Works Dept. Your support is truly appreciated. We would also like to thank the following: The Daily Miner, The Standard, The Hometime Crier, Staples, Big O Tires, Scotty's Restaurant for helping us promote this year's parade. Thanks to the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District for allowing us a staging area and displaying the America flag for the parade flag raising ceremony. Our heart felt thanks to Nellis Air Force Honor Guard for opening our parade.
Special awards were presented to the following: Nellis AFB Honor Guard for nine years of participation; Patriot Award - Troop 66 Boy Scouts/Flag Drill Team; Military Award - VFW Post 11014 Men's and Women's Auxiliary Meadview; Theme Award "Honoring the Bravest of the Brave" - Lewis Kingman Chapter, DAR; and Design Award - Military Order of the Cooties.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the volunteers from: Fundraising - Wanda, Hazel, Linda W., Rose, Russ, Irene and VFW Post 3516 Men's Auxiliary (Sam and Denise); Charlie and Sheryl for passing out candy and flags to children enjoying a day at the veterans parade; breakfast for our entries - VFW Post 10386 Men's Auxiliary; Staging - Mike, Cathy, Theresa, Gary, John B. and Chris; Sound System - Don West; Announcer - Bill Larsen; Parade Marshals - Jay, Charlie, Chuck and VA Service Director Joey Strickland from Phoenix; Drivers - Art, George, Tony, Peggy, Willie and Val; Open House Host - VFW Post 10386 and Kingman Septic Service.
