Reader Letter: Dumpers just don't care
The other day I saw a commercial on TV about "Don't trash Arizona." There is so much of that going on. People are trashing the state, the county, and the city. What on earth is the matter with people? People just don't seem to care anymore. It is no wonder that places in our city are eyesores and a disgrace. Look at that vacant lot across Airway from Smith's. If people would dispose of trash properly, there wouldn't be such a trash problem.
Every supermarket has trash cans in front of them. Why not use them, instead of throwing it on the ground? The other day I was sitting in my car and I saw a woman empty her ashtray in the parking lot. How would that woman feel if someone emptied an ashtray in front of her door?
These people who go out in the desert and dump junk, do they ever stop to think that someone owns that land? How would you like it if you got up some morning and found a bunch of junk in your front yard that someone dumped there overnight? Think about it.
When you are out and about, and have some trash, put it in a trash can.
