Reel Watchers: Resident Evil: Retribution

Umbrella has unleashed the deadly T-virus which has now covered the planet, turning people and animals into ravenous, blood-thirsty zombies. Humanity's last hope is in the monster-killing heroine Alice. Alice and the zombies are back in this riveting installment of the "Resident Evil" series.

The newest Resident Evil begins where the last movie left off. In "Resident Evil: Retribution," Alice has been captured and must once again escape from the evil Umbrella corporation with the aid of a small resistance group. She must battle the mutated undead, along with Umbrella operatives - some of whom will be familiar faces to fans of the long-running franchise.

With her T-virus powers now gone, Alice must use her wits and fighting skills to save not only her life but the human race as well. Can the zombies and Umbrella be stopped and the remaining pockets of human survivors be saved? You'll have to see the movie - there will be no spoilers here.

This latest in the "Resident Evil" series is action-packed with plenty of terror-filled moments. It is reminiscent of the first movie, with lots of edge-of-your-seat thrills and chills.

If you are looking for a movie that packs a scary punch but is not overly gruesome, this is a good one to celebrate the end of summer.

Warning for Parents! Resident Evil: Retribution is rated R for strong violence. This is not a family friendly film.

Resident Evil: Retribution rates two and three-quarter miners out of four.
