Abuse allegations lead to arrest of Kingman couple
Police: Earlier reports confirmed
Police have arrested the wife of a man previously charged with sexual abuse for allegedly knowing that her daughter was being abused and doing nothing.
Jasper Ian Webster, 34, of Kingman, was arrested last November on charges that he molested two neighborhood girls under the age of 14. Kingman Police Capt. Rusty Cooper said that at that time, police were unable to substantiate allegations that Webster was also abusing a girl under the age of 8.
Cooper said investigators have since discovered new information that corroborated previous allegations and indicated Webster has been sexually abusing his daughter for several years.
He was arrested Thursday on the new charges of sexual abuse, sexual conduct with a minor, child molestation and continuous sexual abuse.
Police also arrested Webster's wife, 30-year-old Michelle Renee Webster, on a felony charge of child abuse/failure to protect.
Cooper said she was arrested after investigators discovered information indicating that she knew of the abuse and made no effort to report it or protect the victims.
The couple's children have been taken into the custody of Child Protective Services.
