Mohave 911: August 19, 2013
On Aug. 4, Kingman Police officers arrested Jayce William Klein and Jeffrey Charles Bennett, both 20, of Kingman. Klein was arrested on felony charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and criminal damage, and a misdemeanor charge of under age consumption of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bennett was charged with a misdemeanor count of underage drinking. The incident began about 12:30 a.m. when an officer with the Arizona Department of Public Safety who was investigation a fatal accident on Interstate 40 heard glass breaking in the area of the golf course.
The officer observed two men on bicycles and located them in the area of Stockton Hill Road and Club Avenue. When KPD officers arrived they learned the two men were intoxicated and had reportedly been involved with breaking lights and lawn ornaments at several homes in the area of Country Club Drive near Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course. Klein threw his bike at a KPD officer and fled. He jumped several fences in an attempt to get away, but was found hiding in the backyard of a home on Golden Gate Avenue. Both men were taken into custody without further incident.
On Aug. 6, Mohave County jail personnel reportedly found an inmate in possession of a plastic bag containing white rocks. Candice Frances Bowersox, 29, of Kingman was arrested a few hours earlier on a parole violation warrant issued by the Arizona Department of Corrections. The drugs were discovered during the booking process. She faces a felony charge of promoting prison contraband.
On Aug. 9, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jason Dean Yost, 33, of Kingman on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies spotted Yost drinking a beer while riding a bicycle in the area of Butler Avenue and N. Benton Street. Yost reportedly gave deputies consent to search. Deputies said they found a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance and a glass pipe with residue.He was taken into custody without incident.
On Aug. 10, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Richard Pershing Beale, 43, a transient, for felony criminal trespassing. At about 7 p.m., deputies responded to the 1900 block of Northfield Avenue, where a caller reported a man turned water on at a residence through the main line and had entered the home. Deputies observed a real estate lockbox on the door and entered the home through a back door. Beale reportedly told them his mother owned the home. Deputies ultimately determined more than a year has passed since Beale's mother owned the property. He was taken into custody without incident.
On Aug. 13, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jorge Andres Baca, 29, of Kingman on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. At about 9:40 p.m., deputies stopped a car with a broken tail light cover in the 3000 block of N. Devlin Avenue. The driver continued on for a distance before stopping, and deputies said they observed two passengers "fidgeting around" in their seats.
Deputies called for the K9 unit. K9 Ecko took a sniff and alerted his handler to the vehicle. Deputies located a syringe containing liquid in the rear seat area, close to where Baca was sitting. Baca reportedly admitted the syringe was his and that he used it to self-inject methamphetamine. He was taken into custody without incident. The driver was issued a repair order for the broken tail light cover.
