KRMC seminar focuses on ears
Dr. Katie Brown will discuss "Hearing Loss and Rehabilitation" when Kingman Regional Medical Center hosts Lunch and Learn at noon Jan. 16 in the Del E. Webb Wellness Center, 1719 E. Beverly.
Brown is a trained audiologist from the University of Arizona and the only licensed audiologist in Kingman.
She provides general audiology services and sees patients at the Dizziness and Balance Center, 1740 Sycamore Ave.
Hearing loss is very common, affecting approximately 17 percent of American adults, and can occur when any part of the ear is not working in the usual way.
This includes the outer ear, middle ear, inner ear, hearing (acoustic) nerve and auditory system.
Hearing loss can vary greatly among people and can be due to a number of causes, including aging, noise exposure, genetics and medications.
Lunch and Learn seminars are free. Participants bring their own lunches and KRMC provides beverages and dessert.
To ensure enough seating and desserts, please contact KRMC Public Relations at 681-8514 to make a reservation.
