Mallory Moore, a graduating senior from Kingman, has been awarded Northern Arizona University's Golden Axe Award.
Moore, a biomedical science major, was one of 43 students selected for this recognition.
Award winners were honored at a reception April 14. They received a certificate and a custom gold-plated lapel pin in the shape of an axe.
Recipients have made outstanding contributions to the university in academic performance, leadership and university community service.
Initially awarded in 1932, this academic year marks the 80th year that the Golden Axe Award has been celebrated.
Founded in 1899, NAU now has about 20,000 undergraduate students at more than 30 locations across Arizona or online.
