Graduation week activities under way for seniors

KINGMAN - Local graduates are readying for upcoming senior awards nights, a baccalaureate and graduation ceremonies.

Kingman Academy of Learning High School will send 94 seniors into the world during a graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the school gymnasium, 3420 N. Burbank Street. Senior awards night took place last Wednesday in the high school gymnasium. The valedictorians are Clayton Wilson and Nick Hillemeyer, each with a grade point average of 4.0.

"This year's graduates are very focused on their futures, from college to trades to the workforce," said Jeff Martin, principal of KAOL High School. "I'm very excited about where they're going in their lives."

Mt. Tipton High School will graduate 17 seniors at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the school's gymnasium, 16500 Pierce Ferry Road, Dolan Springs. The school's senior awards night was Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. No valedictorian has been named for the school yet.

A total of 376 seniors will graduate from Kingman High School at 7 p.m. Thursday at the school's football stadium, 4182 N. Bank St. Baccalaureate will take place at 4 p.m. today in the school's auditorium, and senior awards night is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the same location. Alec Gibelyou has been named this year's valedictorian.

"This year's graduating class at KHS has had a very good year," said KHS \Principal Patrick Carey. "Several students have received both in-state and out-of-state scholarships. A number of students will be entering into military service. I am very proud of all of them and wish them the very best of luck. It's a great day to be a Bulldog."
