Letter: America tired of abortion
For the first time in 40 years, we have one state surgically abortion free. It is Delaware. Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in America, closed both clinics after hard-hitting exposés by Operation Rescue and ABC Action News. This, after an inordinate amount of abortion related medical emergencies were discovered.
Their exposé showed clinics every bit as bad as Kermit Gosnell's Philadelphia clinic. Gosnell was convicted of three counts of murder and other charges. Found was filth, over-medicated patients, non-sterile equipment, health code violations and medical malpractice so egregious, employees quit and filed lawsuits against their former employer themselves.
Two other Delaware clinics that were connected with Gosnell, had health violations and closed.
Polls now show more than 50 percent of Americans are now pro-life. Even polls taken on very liberal campuses show the same, with more college students now pro-life and pro-conservative.
Americans, tired of abortion on demand, are also tired of paying for them. Planned Parenthood performs the most; 995,687 over the last three years. Abortions make up 92 percent of all pregnancy services at PP - for every adoption referral, PP performs 145 abortions. While PP received a record $542 million from the government last year, they continue to push for more as their cancer screening is down 29 percent and contraceptive services down 12 percent. Yet they have $1.2 billion net assets.
Abortion is a cash cow for PP. They know it, they push it and they let us pay for it. This needs to stop.
Rev. Patrick Mahoney said it well, "Like slavery and segregation, our nation has grown tired of the violence of abortion and how it crushes human rights, justice and equality for all."
