Alleged car thief chased down by car's owner
KINGMAN - The victim of a post-midnight burglary chased down the alleged thief and held him for police - twice.
William Clifford Myers, 22, of Kingman was taken into custody at about 12:25 a.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of Lillie Avenue.
Kingman Police officers responded to a vehicle burglary call and reportedly saw a man run toward Harrison Street with another man chasing him.
The alleged victim caught Myers and pinned him to the ground.
According to Kingman Police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki, the man arrived home and saw Myers enter his vehicle, which was parked in front of his home. Myers reportedly tried to walk away, but the man confronted him.
Myers allegedly struck the man several times and attempted to flee.
The man held him until police arrived when Myers once again made a dash for freedom, only to be caught in front of officers.
Myers faces a felony charge of third-degree burglary and misdemeanor assault.
