Chilly weather accompanies Kingman rain

Amy McGillivary eyes the rainfall from her garage Thursday. Sandbags at the front door and garage offer mute testimony to the flood threat. She said the house flooded with about a foot of water a few months ago during a severe storm. She likes the rain in general, but said she’s beginning to dread it because she wonders if the house will flood again. (JC AMBERLYN/Miner)

KINGMAN - Rainfall brought problems for some people in Kingman Thursday as a generally soggy week continued. And perhaps more noteworthy than the rain, which measured less than a quarter-inch by late afternoon, was the temperature in the mid-60s.

On Gates Avenue, city of Kingman Public Works crews were out trying to help Kingman citizens having trouble with flooding when one of their own heavy-equipment vehicles got stuck in the mud. Another grader was brought out to get it free from the muck.

Some homes along Gates experienced flooding in the rains. Crews were attempting to alleviate those problems.
