Obituary: Dorothy "Dottie" Jean Affayroux
Dorothy "Dottie" Jean Affayroux (nee Braly), 73, of Kingman passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Kingman Regional Medical Center while surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Neptune, N.J., to Laurence and Laura Braly and grew up in Spring Lake, N.J.
She married the love of her life, Augustine "Gus" Affayroux, in 1963 and they had been married for 48 years at the time of his passing in 2011. An Army wife, Dottie traveled the world until settling down in North Plainfield, N.J., to raise her family She lived there for 25 years, where she worked as an insurance agent and became an avid bowler.
After retiring, she and Gus moved to Kingman in August of 2001 to be closer to their grandchildren whom she loved and adored. She enjoyed traveling and made several cross-country trips to visit her family members of the East Coast, as well as taking an adventure-filled trip to Alaska. She served as treasurer for Kingman Presbyterian church and made many dear friends there.
She is survived by her son, Frank Andrews and his wife Linda; her daughter, Susan Williams; her grandsons, Nicholas and Eric Williams and their father Alan; and her sister, Madelaine Morris. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
A lovely memorial service was held for her on Jan. 27 in the Kingman Presbyterian Church.
