Letter: Surplus tank next on city's wish list
Donald Stultz, in his letter to the Kingman Daily Miner on April 29, drove home the message as to why Kingman needs an armored vehicle that can withstand a bomb blast.
Next on the list will be a surplus tank fully armored that the police department desperately needs. I am sure the city administration and city council will seek and approve the acquisition. What is the cost to maintain a military vehicle, added personnel and added training?
Apparently the City of Kingman has a hidden slush fund that the general population of taxpayers in the Kingman area are not aware of. $2.50 of every $100 in sales is the tax being paid to Kingman by all who purchase any taxable item from toilet paper to automobiles.
Some time ago, a Mr. Ron Walker, ex-Mohave County manager disappeared. I believe he or his ghost is hiding out in the closets in Kingman City Hall. Only at night, when all are away, is he or his ghost friends able to perform their assigned duties.
