Letter: Laziness in Lazy Y-U
I just became aware of all the responses to my letter over a year ago about the junked yard in Lazy Y-U ["Clean up Lazy Y-U Ranch," Dec. 11, 2013]. Well, I want to thank all who support me, and to be clear that we were living here before the house that now has a junk yard in front of it, and it just gets worse and worse. So many people are correct to say Kingman is a junk town, but that is why we moved to Lazy Y-U - they have CC&Rs to keep this from happening, but no one will enforce the rules.
What good are rules if the county and the people of Lazy Y-U just don't care?
It brings down the value of our home and those around it, and some people just don't care, they move in and bring their junk - and yes, it is junk. There is a very large metal building on the property and all the junk is on the outside.
Lazy Y-U is/was a very nice place to live, and to the person who said, 'You can keep your window covers down' - why should I? We bought for the view, not a view of someone's junk.
And as for a man cave, what a joke. It makes no sense that you have a very large metal building and you keep all your man stuff out in front of it. There are many places in this county that you can do whatever is being done here. Why not go there where you can leave people that care about where they live and what it looks like in peace and a clean place to live alone?
This was one of the last places in Kingman that was a clean area to live, and now it is a lost cause just like the rest of Kingman. Can't wait to get out of this town!
