Superintendent candidate coming to Kingman

KINGMAN - Sharon Thomas, Democratic candidate for superintendent of public instruction, will be in Kingman at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 18 for a meet and greet event at The Cellar Door, 414 E. Beale St.

Thomas, who is currently teaching in a Phoenix magnet school, is a former chair of the AZ Democratic Party secretary and co-chair of the party's progressive caucus. Thomas is one of two Democrats who have announced that they are running in the Aug. 26 primary.

Mikel Weisser will also attend. He is running for the Democratic nomination for U.S. House of Representatives in Arizona's 4th District, which includes Mohave County.
