'Warmup Shoot' archery event scheduled this weekend, Nov. 22-23

KINGMAN - The Kingman Desert Archers host the "Pre-Rut Warmup Shoot" this weekend at the Mohave Sportsman Club's 7 Mile Hill Range.

Taco Esquibel, the MSC's archery director, said the shooting starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Crossbows will not be allowed, he said.

The event includes a 3D shoot with 30 targets, a long shot competition and a six-target smoker round.

A course will be set up for all ages. The cost is $15 for adults, with a $10 re-entry for Sunday. Youth pay $8 the first day and $5 the second.

Snacks and drinks will be available at the range, which is located west of Kingman. Take I-40 to the Shinarump Road exit, then go west to Oatman Road (Old Highway 66), turn left and go approximately 2.5 miles to the 7-Mile Hill Range exit.

Follow the signs to the archery range.
