Kingman Letters: Discounts stretch $$$ for food bank

The Kingman Food Bank would like to thank the Elks Club, and Smith's Assistant Manager Donald and Manager Abdul, for the generous discount that was given to the Elks so that their dollars would stretch further, and to Smith's employees for their donation of 15 cases of peanut butter.

A total of 117½ cases of peanut butter were donated to the food bank and in addition, the club held a "Peanut Butter Ball" for us and collected $575. We want to say a special "thank you" to Kathy Taylor and all who helped make the ball a success. Thanks to the band Family Magic for donating their time and to everyone who attended. Organizations working together can do so much for the community, especially in our efforts to combat hunger for our children.

Sincere thanks to everyone in our great community who cares and shares so others can eat. Remember, September is Hunger Action Month. Please donate to your local food banks and food pantries.

Betty Kahlor, Director, and all Kingman Food Bank Volunteers
