UPDATE 1:50 p.m.: Lane restrictions have been lifted at the interchange of U.S. 93 (Beale Street) and Interstate 40 in Kingman following an earlier semi crash, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Significant restrictions had been anticipated through all of Friday afternoon, but the crash on U.S. 93 southbound was removed sooner than originally estimated.
Drivers may still encounter delays Friday afternoon as a result of the earlier backups, primarily on U.S. 93 southbound approaching I-40 and on I-40 westbound approaching U.S. 93.
PHOENIX - A semi crash has closed U.S. 93 southbound at Interstate 40 in Kingman, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. This affects the main route between Las Vegas and Phoenix.
Drivers traveling between Las Vegas to Phoenix should consider delaying travel or using alternate routes. To get around the closure, drivers should avoid U.S. 93 southbound before reaching Highway 68 at Golden Valley.
At Highway 68, drivers can turn west until reaching Bullhead City, where Highway 95 southbound will bring drivers to I-40 in Needles, Calif. Alternately, drivers leaving Las Vegas can use U.S. 95 southbound in Nevada until reaching I-40.
Northbound U.S. 93 remains open at I-40 in Kingman.
There is no estimated time to reopen southbound lanes.
