UES schedules short service outage following upgrades
KINGMAN - UniSource Energy Services has scheduled a momentary service interruption Wednesday for about 4,400 electric customers in northwest Mohave County so that crews can return a transmission line to its normal configuration after completing recent upgrades.
This outage is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. and should last less than one minute. The outage will affect areas including Temple Bar, White Hills, Dolan Springs, Meadview and Chloride, although not all customers will be affected.
The outage will restore normal operations for the transmission line that runs along Highway 93. UES employees recently upgraded a two-mile portion of the line by installing higher-capacity wires between Hermit Drive and County Route 125. Crews also replaced 39 poles during the $500,000 upgrade.
Additional improvements are planned for UES substations in the area.
UES provides electric service to approximately 93,000 customers in Mohave and Santa Cruz Counties and natural gas to approximately 149,000 customers in Mohave, Yavapai, Coconino, Navajo and Santa Cruz Counties. For more information, visit uesaz.com.
