Put your child in school in Tennessee and you will undoubtedly have to fill out paperwork, including the names of the child's mother and father. Well, not exactly ... anymore. Now, you will fill out Parent 1 and Parent 2. Gosh, I wonder where that could have come from? Possibly, because the two parents are both women ... or both men or one's a transgender and a ... well, you get the point. Anything to steer away from traditional marriage and traditional families we were all raised with.

Which brings me to something much bigger. If you want to know what's really going on in the schools these days on the PC side, keep track of the National Education Association (NEA) and it's 10,000 members who meet each 4th of July weekend. Their 3 million members with the half-billion dollar budget is mostly made up of teachers and mandatory union dues.

As the brilliant Phyllis Schlafly and her Eagle Forum has pointed out, the usual liberal buzzwords at their convention are diversity, inclusion, sexual orientation, reproductive freedom, racism, sexism, homophobia, equity, multiculturalism, undocumented immigrants, and global interdependency.

But this year's meeting brought in a few newbies such as marriage equality, gender identity and institutional racism. While they favored repealing the Defense of Marriage Act, they had not explicitly endorsed same sex marriage ... until their summer meeting.

DOMA did pass when parents were warned first and second graders would soon be taught it was all right for Jimmy to marry Bill and Heather to marry Charlotte. But now the NEA is armed with new literature warning against religious groups who still believe marriage is between one man and one woman.

Gasp! Us Christians, of course, believe what God says - that Joe marrying Bob is a sin! And for us who read a lot, we know it was the last thing to take over the Roman Empire before it fell. Homosexuality, beastiality, you name it, when it all hit Rome it was adios, empire.

And we are there, folks! It is time to speak up to your child's teacher if this hits your school. Maybe you should attend a school board meeting or, better yet, run for the board.

The Religious Freedom Restoration Acts are what the NEA fears and wants to fight, for it offers a way for Christians to live out their faith without being sued for doing so, as has been done in the past. The NEA literature will teach that the belief that God blesses the institution of marriage between a man and woman is just a license to discriminate.

But who are the ones who really discriminate? That's not hard to see, for with liberals who push homosexuality, you must cross over, leave your faith and endorse it ... or else.

Some might recall a beautiful Catholic cathedral that did not endorse homosexuality. During a high Mass, gay and transgender people filled the church and showed lewd pictures of Jesus, decimated the church and terrified the parishioners. That's a PG version of what occurred.

My answer it twofold: 1. Over my dead body, and; 2. There is a loving God who will forgive ALL if you but ask.

You have a choice. You can CHOOSE not to be homosexual and you can choose to ask God's forgiveness if you are already practicing it, perhaps having fallen for the lie that you are born that way.

It gets worse. Not content with redefining marriage, in New Business Item 30, the NEA endorsed a new transgender agenda in public schools which demands the schools provide access for transgender students and staff with facilities consistent with their gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on their records. Also, they may dress in the gender of their choice, use any name they pick to match that gender, and all without having courts involved.

Can you only imagine a teacher who went into the teaching profession to actually teach children math and English and then have to deal with this demonic craziness?

Then on to the NEA's belief that institutional racism is rampant in our country. What I see is NEA institutionalized insanity coming from the left. You have to really wonder why they hate America so much.

Their teaching on this will go along these lines. American history is rife with oppression by white Europeans who stole the country from Indians. Never mind that Indians didn't believe in land ownership, and that many were actually happy we arrived to save them from other marauding tribes. But, of course, that won't be a part of the curriculum. This same white oppression, our students learn, also victimized Africans and Mexicans.

A history studier myself, I can tell you what they will be teaching is false, and that what they already teach on college campuses is false. We are and have always been the most giving, loving country on the face of the Earth - in large part because our country was founded on Judeo-Christian principals.

And here's another crazy fact: We are still the country the largest number of people try to get into every year and, in fact, we do let in, both legally and illegally, more people annually than all other countries combined.

Enough is enough of these lies. Our tax dollars pay teachers' salaries, and the sooner these teachers get out from under mandatory union dues, the better.

Don't be timid. Study the lies of the NEA and then speak out against them.
