Lady Bulldogs beat Mingus in overtime, 44-38

KINGMAN - The Kingman High Lady Bulldogs blanked Mingus in overtime 6-0 to hold on to a 44-38 Division II, Section I win Friday in Cottonwood.

Kingman (9-6, 1-3) jumped out early to lead at the end of the first quarter, 17-10. Mingus (5-11, 1-3) slowly crawled back and the game was tied at the end of the third at 29. Both teams put up nine points in the fourth quarter to force the overtime period.

Desirae Gonzalez led the Lady Bulldogs with 35 points. Cheri Roundy scored seven and Kim Carroll finished with two.

Kingman hosted Wickenburg (6-9) in a non-section game Saturday. Results were not available by deadline. The Lady Bulldogs host Lee Williams (6-10) in another non-section game at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Lady Vols blast Odyssey, 49-20

Lee Williams took apart Odyssey Thursday in Buckeye, 49-20. The Lady Vols had more than enough points for the win by halftime, with 23 on the scoreboard after two quarters.

Sadie Snay led Lee Williams (6-10 D-III) with 15 points. Madi Arave scored 10, Jackie Millim finished with eight, and Kristen Finch had seven. Gabby Schmidt added three, and Sienna Cobanovich, Mya Radler and Madi McGlathery each contributed two.

Lee Williams plays at Kingman at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
