Letter of thanks: Elks had help with holiday meals

On Dec. 24, the Kingman Elks Lodge No. 468 delivered over 100 food baskets to over 450 local family members as part of the Lodge's annual Christmas program. The Lodge would like to thank the following people and organization for their help.

The Kingman Academy of Learning High School, Middle School and Intermediate Schools for collecting over 4,000 canned and non-perishable food items. Over 120 Elk members and their families helped sort, assemble and deliver the food baskets at 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve morning.

The Lodge would also like to thank John Kirby and Keith Eaton for picking up the canned goods at the schools and delivering them to the Elks Lodge. John and Keith also picked up the turkeys, hams, potatoes, apples and other perishable goods from the local stores. They organized the delivery routes with maps and addresses.

A thank you to American Woodmark for donating turkeys again this year, Sterilite Co. from Lake Havasu for donating over 100 baskets to put the food in. A special thanks to Penelope Witkop, the Elks Bingo chairwoman for collecting over 500 canned goods from the bingo players and Sherry White for raising money to buy 20 turkeys. Hope we didn't miss anybody.
