Letter of Thanks: Gray day brightened by drive
On May 9, the food bank not only lost our executive director, but the Postal Service had their annual food drive to benefit the Kingman Area Food Bank. In one of the boxes, we found about six fruit juices and six cups of soup. Along with these items there was a letter that read:
This little box of goods is donated by a Vietnam combat veteran. I don't have much. I share what I can. God Bless
We would like to say thank you to this individual and to everyone who donated food during the postal food drive. We received 26,238 pounds of food.
I would also like to thank the volunteers who helped with the drive: Jim McCoy (retired postal carrier), Shelby Medel, Veronica Carr, Ed Pyrzynski (retired postal carrier), Jeri Stoll, Kathleen and Ed Pontillo, Carol Hurley, Shari Hubbard, Donald Martin, Kim Turner, Mary Winchester, Doug Sperling, Angie Benavidez, Peggy O'Neil, Monte Kelly, Jody Lambert, Ray Lyons, Bill Lacy, Fred Steffin, Justin Beagles and Vickie Kress. Without these volunteers and all the volunteers at the food bank we could not serve the amount of people that come through the doors.
