She is survived by Ken Hills, her partner of 47 years; her daughter, Ginny Shelton; three grandsons, Andrew (Michelle), Tyler and Wade; one great-granddaughter, Avah; her sister, Pauline (Robert) Wells; and many nieces and nephews.
Alma was born on July 27, 1944, in Long Island, N.Y. She moved to California in 1962 and held many interesting jobs such as a guitar sander, hot press operator and chicken fryer. She retired from SPS technologies in 2000 and moved to Kingman in 2001, bringing with her lots of love and laughter. She was an active member of St. John's UMC. She enjoyed reading, storytelling, trying new recipes, embroidery and hand-made quilting. Alma loved her rose garden, drinking coffee and spending time with her loved ones. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2013 and fought valiantly until her death.
Alma arranged to have her earthly body donated to science in the hopes of helping others. The family would like to thank the Prilleo care-giving team, KRMC Cancer Center and KRMC hospice for their loving care of Ms. Alma. Services will be held at 11 a.m. June 27 at St. John's United Methodist Church.
