Golden Valley Fire hosting budget forum

GOLDEN VALLEY - The Golden Valley Fire District will be hosting an open forum at the Public Safety Training Center, 423 S. Colorado Road in Golden Valley, at 9 a.m. Saturday to discuss the district's operating budget for the upcoming year.

The forum will be lead by Chief Tom O'Donohue and his staff, with them leading a discussion on the budget followed by input from the public.

"We want to show how we get our money and how we spend our money," said O'Donohue.

"We'll show the budget how it is, explain how each of these items work, give the opportunity for input, and outline the challenges we're facing. It's a great way to show transparency about what we do."

Input and discussion from this forum will be included on a draft budget to be presented to the governing board on March 18. Last year's budget is available online at
