Kingman Photo: Lions Club raises money for eye care
KINGMAN - The Kingman Mohave Lions Club held its annual Golf Ball Drop at Centennial Park Saturday morning, a fundraiser for a project that provides eye exams and eyeglasses to children in need.
A crane provided by UniSource dropped the balls on a baseball diamond at the park. Jeff Cates won when his ball stopped closest to a mark on the diamond, taking half the money raised - $2,267.50.
Lions Club members will be at the Kingman Regional Medical Center's Kids Day event on May 30 with a spot machine for toddlers to detect eye problems before they become serious. Call (928) 753-4505 for more information.
