Obituary: Barbara McGill Redmond West
Barbara McGill Redmond West, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 4, following complications from surgery in Kingman and is now in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Barbara was the daughter of Clyde and Wilma McGill and grew up in East Ridge, Tenn.
She graduated from East Ridge High School in 1972 and studied nursing at Chattanooga School of Practical Nursing, graduating in 1975.
She was very active in Christian activities all her life and ministered to the needs of many people, both inside and outside of work.
She helped to save many people in critical situations at the many hospitals she worked, in several different parts of the country.
She also spent a few years managing a photography studio in Chattanooga, where she enjoyed helping coordinate numerous weddings.
She is survived by her husband, Avison West, and her daughter, Jennifer Redmond.
She donated her body to the study of medicine and her ashes will be returned to her husband and daughter.
Loved by many, a memorial celebration of her life will be held later in the summer and friends will be notified of the details well in advance.
