Seatbelt trips trigger; man shot
KINGMAN – A 77-year-old Kingman man accidentally shot himself in the leg Tuesday around noon at a business in the 1800 block of East Northern Avenue, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Upon arrival, deputies observed employees of the business rendering aid to William Conrad Huldack, who was lying on the ground in the parking lot. Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District personnel responded and started treating him.
Following the investigation, it was determined that as Huldack was exiting his vehicle, his holstered gun on his hip fired one round.
Apparently, Huldack’s seatbelt struck his gun causing his weapon to fire as he was exiting his vehicle. Huldack was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center.
