Andrew Kyle Ballestero,

KINGMAN – A 21-year-old man forced a 24-year-old man at gunpoint to lie on the ground during a party early Monday and shot a round from his AK-47 into the floor near the victim’s head, the Kingman Police Department said.

Andrew Kyle Ballestero, of Kingman, was arrested at his home Monday in the 2000 block of Chambers Avenue on felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, endangerment, domestic violence by endangerment, domestic violence by criminal damage, domestic violence by disorderly conduct, and disorderly conduct with a deadly weapon.

At approximately 1:25 a.m., Kingman Police officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired inside Ballestero’s home. It was reported that Ballestero fled the area on foot and was possibly carrying a rifle.

Ballestero also fired one round through a wall, which exited the residence. During the investigation, officers said they learned that Ballestero had brandished a shotgun prior to firing the rifle, the KPD reported.

The shotgun was located in the residence by investigators. It was determined that Ballestero had been involved in a domestic dispute with his 24-year-old girlfriend, which prompted the alleged victim to intervene.

Ballestero returned to the area at approximately 2:20 a.m. and was taken into custody. Ballestero was booked into the Mohave County jail. The AK-47 rifle was later recovered in a yard in the 1200 block of Fairgrounds Blvd.
