Letter of thanks: A special Christmas in Dolan Springs

Our 2015 Free Christmas Day Dinner held at the Dolan Springs Community Council Building turned out great. We served and delivered to the homebound turkey, ham and all the trimmings, including pies.

We would like to extend a very special thanks to those that donated food, provided in-kind services and/or made cash donations, as follows: Sons of the American Legion, Mohave Rancho and Lumber, John Graves Propane of Arizona, Smith's Market Place, Walmart of Kingman, Dolan Springs LDS Church, Mt. Tipton Church of Dolan Springs, K.A.D.S. of Dolan Springs, VFW Post 9833 of Dolan Springs, Kenney's Barber Shop, Magnum Propane and the Canyon Café.

Deliveries of boxed food were transported by the Dolan Springs Senior Transit van, driven by Kathy Dodson-Long and assisted by Walter Kiffer, to the homebound residents of Dolan Springs.

We must recognize and thank the volunteers: Donna Wickerd (kitchen manager), Joyce Beavdoin, Jay and Jean Fleming, Alan and Sean Dixon, Sue Baughman, Patsy Jose, Kathy Dodson-Long, Richard Long, Celeste Irons, Gary Sims, Irene Ahuna, Ladona Cypret, Jessie Hammonds, Lois Jackson, Dina and Joe Risner, Danny Woods, Terri Heitstuman, Judy Spohn, James Shentzner, Walter and Charlotte Kiffer, Tyler Shentzner, James Atheron, Todd Cayton, Barbara Soto and Brent Easterling.

All the above volunteers helped to prepare, serve and clean up, thus making this dinner a success.

Kathy Dodson-Long

Vice President, Dolan Springs Community Council
