KINGMAN - A 74-year-old Kingman woman was jailed Wednesday after she allegedly put a loaded and cocked revolver to her husband's head.

Edna Ruth Delong allegedly told deputies who responded to her Neal Avenue home at about 4:30 p.m. that she put the gun to her 77-year-old husband's head because "she is tired of the mental abuse she's endured," according to Mohave County Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter.

The man said his wife became upset with him and pulled his shirt while yelling at him. He reportedly told deputies that he grabbed her arms to make her stop. Delong, he said, went into the bedroom and returned with a small-caliber revolver with the hammer pulled back into the firing position and pressed it against his temple.

Delong allegedly confirmed her husband's account, but she said she was not going to pull the trigger, according to Carter.

Delong was charged with felony aggravated assault by domestic violence and misconduct involving weapons. She was taken into custody without incident.
