Mayoral candidates will address GOP club Monday

KINGMAN - Mayor Richard Anderson and those who seek to replace him will speak at the next Conservative Republican Club of Kingman July 11.

Anderson, former mayor Monica Gates and Harley Pettit will make their mayoral pitches ahead of the Aug. 30 primary. Democrat Joe Longoria is not listed among the speakers.

Also, candidates for the open Mohave County Assessor job, Jeanne Kentch and Nancy Esquibel, will speak. Former Assessor Ron Nicholson died earlier this year.

Club President Laurence Schiff said a minimum of five candidates will speak at the final two luncheons ahead of the Aug. 30 primary election.

The meeting takes place in the Dambar Steakhouse meeting room at the corner of Andy Devine Avenue and Hualapai Mountain Road. Doors open at 11:15 a.m. and the speeches begin at about noon. The event is open to the public. The cost is $3 to attend and does not include lunch.
