Wanted man found hiding in attic
KINGMAN - The ladder might have been a giveaway.
Tipped off to the whereabouts of a wanted man, 28-year-old Bradley Louis Shaffer of Kingman, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home in the 1600 block of Devlin Avenue March 4 at about 11:45 p.m.
The occupant of the home allowed them inside, where they noticed a ladder leading to the attic of the home. Deputies searched the attic and allegedly found Shaffer, who was wanted on a felony failure to appear warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court.
Shaffer was taken into custody and a search allegedly revealed he possessed a tin container with methamphetamine inside. He was additionally charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies.
On March 5, Kingman Police arrested Jesse G. Leahy, 31 and Travis L. Martin, 29, both of New Mexico, and California resident Kristen L. Sparacino on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, Sparacino was charged with providing false identification to police, a misdemeanor.
Officers responded to reports of suspicious activity regarding the three in a motel parking lot in the 1700 block of Sycamore Avenue.
It's unclear what prompted them to do so, but officers searched the suspects and allegedly recovered methamphetamine, unidentified narcotics, and various items related to paraphernalia.
On March 4, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Vanessa Marie Ellis, 30, of Kingman on a felony charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor warrant.
Deputies approached Ellis in an alley between Hearne and Devlin avenues at about 6 p.m. A record check revealed the warrant and she was taken into custody without incident. During a search, deputies allegedly located a glass pipe with white residue.
On March 4, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Charles Joseph Callender Sr., 58, of Kingman on a felony failure to appear warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court.
Deputies contacted Callender at a home in the 3600 block of Northfield Avenue at about 11:30 a.m.
A record check revealed the warrant and he was taken into custody without incident.
On March 8, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Joseph D. Gierke, 36, of Kingman on a felony burglary charge.
Deputies responded to a call of an unknown male in the yard of a home in the 3700 block of Canary Lane at about 9:50 a.m.
Deputies noticed the front door to the home was damaged and spoke with witnesses who reportedly told them they saw a man kick it open. They contacted Gierke, who allegedly admitted to entering the home. He was taken into custody without incident.
Drugs in jail
On March 9, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Forrest Lance Mallett, 38, of Bullhead City on a felony charge of taking contraband into the Mohave County jail in Kingman, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies responded to the jail at about 8:30 p.m. after a detention officer allegedly found a plastic bag containing methamphetamine in Mallett's wallet and he was charged accordingly. Bullhead City Police arrested him on unknown charges.
On March 7, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Linda Reann Pinto, 23, of Golden Valley on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with four misdemeanor warrants: Three for failure to appear issued by Kingman and Bullhead City municipal courts and one for interfering with judicial proceedings issued by Kingman Justice Court.
Deputies contacted Pinto at a residence in the 3400 block of McNeal Road at about 6 p.m. A record check revealed the warrants and she was taken into custody without incident.
A search allegedly revealed Pinto possessed a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance and a syringe. She allegedly told deputies the substance was methamphetamine.
