MCSO IDs man found dead in Golden Valley

GOLDEN VALLEY – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office detectives are treating the Oct. 24 death of a Golden Valley man as a hit and run.

According to MCSO spokeswoman Trish Carter, the body of 53-year-old Alonzo Jesus Legarreta, was discovered by a school bus driver near Hermit Drive and Ligurta Road. It was previously reported Legarreta had been discovered by friends, but an investigation has proved otherwise.

The county medical examiner has determined Legarreta died of blunt force trauma consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle. Detectives are treating this accident as a homicide investigation.

“From our investigation, everything indicates that,” Carter said.
