Letter: Veterans disrespected at parade

Downtown Kingman was once again this year’s host to the Veteran’s Day parade. Our veterans were well represented and it was a beautiful day for a parade.

Once again there was a contingent of 10 or so vehicles representing the Confederacy that fought against the United States to preserve the evil of slavery in this country. There were dozens of confederate and Gadsden flags mixed with others. In this whole mess there were only two United States flags noted. Seems this was quite a disrespectful display for our vets.

Speaking with the Vietnam vets near their entry, these fine veterans and true heroes stated demurely that they may disagree with this display but fought for their right to protest as well as everyone else’s. Thank you to all our veteran’s for your service. Shame on all you “rebels” who used this honoring of our veterans to display your personal hatred.
