KINGMAN – It was a rough week for the three local high school squads that went a combined 1-5.

Lee Williams (6-7, 1-6) dropped two in the Grand Canyon Region. The Lady Vols went five sets at Mingus Tuesday but lost the fifth and deciding set. Then the No. 9 Coconino Panthers came to LWHS Thursday and swept the Lady Vols in three straight sets.

No. 26 Lee Williams next plays at No. 1 Flagstaff (11-0, 7-0) Tuesday.

Lady Tigers win

Kingman Academy (5-6, 1-3) beat Bullhead City MALC (4-6, 0-4) three sets to none in a 2A West match Thursday at KAHS. Earlier in the week, the Lady Tigers fell at Tonopah Valley (8-4, 3-2) three sets to one.

Kingman Academy next plays at No. 7 Parker (10-1, 4-0) on Tuesday.

Kingman drops two

The Lady Bulldogs (0-12, 0-4) lost to Chino Valley and Wickenburg this week. Kingman has an opportunity for its first win of the season when the Lady Bulldogs visit River Valley (0-12, 0-4) Tuesday.
