Obituary: Michael Gibelyou
On Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, Michael Loren Gibelyou answered the call to come home and in doing so, defeated cancer and left his ravaged body behind. Mike was born in Bitburg, Germany, to Tech Sergeant Loren Paul Gibelyou and Angie Hilmo Gibelyou, May 9, 1959, or as he loved to tell people, 5-9-5-9.
Mike loved his family and loved spending time with his children. Family events always included games, food and lots of laughter.
He was devoted to his church and loved the Lord, sharing his beliefs with others every opportunity he had. He has served in various callings within the church and enjoyed his opportunities to serve others.
He is survived by his wife, Anell Paskett; children Derrick (Autumn) Seth, Tegan Steimle (Eliot), and Kevin Alec and his three grandchildren. His brother Darrell Gibelyou, his Uncle Sherald Baldwin, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Angie, and his favorite aunt, Sharon.
Interment in Bountiful, Utah, occurred on Oct. 19.
A celebration of life will be held Oct. 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church, 610 Eastern Street. Friends are invited to visit with the family starting at 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m.
