Letter: Water worries

In response to the farmer who stated farmers need water. I totally agree that farmers need and must have water to grow crops to feed the populous but from what I understand the issue here is the influx of farmers primarily from drought-stricken California coming here to grow alfalfa and the like. I know livestock need feed to produce meat but when the use of the limited water supply is being depleted at the alarming rate that it currently is something MUST be done to insure water for not only the vast majority of us but for future generations. We can’t and must not allow what little water we have to be used at the current rate or we will turn out just like the areas that these farmers came from. There’s only so much water and it MUST be used wisely. I don’t have the answer but there has got to be one and the powers to be must find it and get it done for the betterment of the general population and not for the special interest.
