Letter: Common Denominator accounts for the turmoil
Turmoil in the world has many sources, but I am persuaded there is a common denominator.
I find that every chapter of any book in the Bible that starts with words something like “each man did what was right in his own eyes” winds up being a disaster. Sounds like a session of Congress. A modern tower of Babel is being erected in the name of “political correctness.”
Sanctuary cities imbedded in society today are – in my opinion – based upon anarchism.
Foul birds fly to these cities where no one is held accountable. There they are protected by those who think themselves are above judgment for their own actions and attitudes. “Each man does what is right in his own eyes.”
Rebellion against society is the product of failure to recognize any basis of authority.
When anarchy becomes national mantra, wisdom is lost in the restless sea of rebellion. Choose your news channel, check it out.
Research the history of America. Every reference to God I am aware of on any public building is to the God of the Bible.
Make what you will of this, but I find it significant.
Look carefully at the halls of justice, Moses is the central figure, and all others face him.
The Ten Commandments are inscribed upon the door, as well as inside the building – unless they have been recently removed.
Under the guise of “separation of church and state”, we have separated God and state.
The basis of authority upon which this great nation was established is being ignored.
Upon what basis of authority are we building the future?
