Mom-hitting Kingman man tasered, arrested
KINGMAN – A man wound up in jail Sunday after allegedly hitting his mom.
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Sean Michael Munson, 50, of Kingman for aggravated assault on officers and resisting arrest – both felonies – and assault per domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
According to sheriff’s spokeswoman Trish Carter, deputies responded to a home in the 3100 block of East Butler Avenue after Munson’s 71-year-old mother said he had hit her.
The mother was talking to Munson when he got mad and allegedly hit her in the chin.
As deputies were talking to the woman, Munson started yelling at her again and allegedly admitted to hitting his mom because she accused him of taking drugs.
As deputies were taking Munson into custody, he allegedly pulled away and continued to resist. He and the deputy fell to the floor. Munson continued resisting and deputies used a Taser subdue and place him in custody. The deputy suffered a minor cut to his hand during the struggle.
Munson was transported and booked into the Mohave County jail without further incident.
