Kingman Police make arrests for assault, domestic violence and aggravated DUI

KINGMAN – Kingman Police arrested Derek Linden Owens, 32, of Kingman on felony charges of aggravated assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers also arrested a 34-year-old man on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence by disorderly conduct Saturday night.

According to Deputy Chief Rusty Cooper, officers responded to a home in the 3700 block of North Irving Street Saturday night regarding several 911 reports of shots being fired in the area. Officers determined several shots were fired during a domestic disturbance between an estranged couple and a current boyfriend.

Owens reportedly arrived at the home when he learned that his girlfriend was involved in a disturbance with the 34-year-old man, her estranged boyfriend. Owens allegedly threatened the man with a shotgun to which he allegedly fired a handgun at Owens.

No one was injured, however the vehicle Owens was driving sustained several bullet holes. Owens was also found to allegedly be in possession of drug paraphernalia and determined to be the aggressor. The 34-year-old man was found to have allegedly committed domestic violence by disorderly conduct towards his estranged girlfriend. before Owens arrived.

Both were arrested and booked into the Mohave County jail.

Aggravated DUI

KINGMAN – On Friday, Kingman Police arrested Loren Dean HasThePipe, 39, of Kingman on five felony charges of aggravated DUI, possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Deputy Chief Rusty Cooper, HasThePipe was the driver of a 2014 silver Dodge truck that crashed into a light pole in the 3900 block of Stockton Hill Road. Officers determined HasThePipe was the driver and that he allegedly crashed into the pole as the truck entered Stockton Hill Road.

HasThePipe’s four children, ages 8 – 14, were in the vehicle during the crash, one of which received minor injuries.

Officers determined HasThePipe was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and impaired by narcotic drugs. He was also reportedly found to be in possession of heroin and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The children were placed with a family member.
