Motorcyclist airlifted to Las Vegas after crash

KINGMAN – A motorcyclist crashed on Route 66 at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and was flown to a hospital in Las Vegas with a serious leg injury, the Department of Public Safety reported Thursday.

Kameron Lee, public information officer for DPS, said the accident occurred at milepost 58, with initial reports of a motorcycle going down in the median. Debris blocked the left lane.

DPS would not release the motorcycle rider’s name nor any further details on his injuries.

According to one source who reported the accident to the Daily Miner, the rider was seen cutting in and out of traffic before hitting a front-end loader at highway speed.

DPS showed no reports of reckless driving prior to the crash, Lee said.
