Mystery confines Estebanico, black explorer of US Southwest

During his second expedition, Estebanico was killed at Zuni Pueblo. The historical accounts said he was either killed in confusion or because he mistreated Zuni women. However, some scholars believe he staged his death in order to escape slavery.
