Sheriff’s office investigates inmate death at Mohave County jail
KINGMAN – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the death of a Mohave County Adult Detention Facility inmate.
At approximately 6:24 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, a detention officer was alerted to an unresponsive inmate. The officer called for medical assistance and immediately initiated CPR on the inmate, identified as Kim Maurice Monahan, 57 of Bullhead City.
Detention Facility Medical Staff responded and took over life-saving efforts. Monahan could not be revived and was ultimately pronounced dead.
The initial cause of death was determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office to be natural causes and the investigation this far shows no reason to suspect foul play. This investigation is ongoing.
