I-40 UPDATE: Man dies of gunshot wound at Exit 51 off-ramp
KINGMAN – Authorities say preliminary information indicates that a man in his 40s died from a gunshot wound late the evening of Monday, Feb. 11 on the Interstate 40 westbound off-ramp at Exit 51 onto Stockton Hill Road.
Trooper Kameron Lee, Department of Public Safety public information officer, told the Daily Miner troopers responded to the location at about 10:50 p.m. after receiving a call about an unresponsive man inside a parked pickup truck.
Troopers and medical personnel came upon the man in the truck. He was declared dead at the scene.
State detectives are on the scene investigating as of 11:09 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, and Lee said the ramp will remain closed and there is still no estimated time when it will re-open.

Interstate 40 westbound Exit 51 onto Stockton Hill Road is closed due to a police incident.
Arizona Department of Transportation reported earlier the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 that there is no estimated time when the ramp will reopen.
The ramp was still closed as of 7:30 a.m.
ADOT advises drivers to use an alternate exit ramp into Kingman.
